St. Annes Church, Chapeltown
Flower Festival - 24/25th July, 2002

The Flower Festival again this year (23rd)
was a great success with over 70 displays.

The theme this year was Look And Listen
 (TV & Radio)

Well over 100 sponsors enabled a beautiful
array of displays ranging from The Archers to
All Creatures Great And Small,

Thunderbirds and Brookside

A verse was written for the festival by Margaret Forster as follows:.

Where in this world would we all be
Without ITV and BBC?
They give us plays, and music too,
As well as many things to view.
The Daily Service comes our way,
The Archers surely here to stay.
The weather forecast mentions fog,
Wake up with Wogan - youre a tog.
We sit and watch the television,
Vying for the best position.
Cricket, rugby and best of all,
The national game we call football.
Plenty to hear and lots to see,
Thanks to radio and TV
