St. Annes Church, Chapeltown
Flower Festival - 26/27th July 1997

The Flower Festival again this year (18th)
was a great success with over 70 displays.

Well over 100 sponsors enabled a beautiful array of displays.

The theme this year was Jessie’s Musical Memories”

Welcome to the 18th St. Anne's Flower Festival.

My sister, Jessie Whittaker, was the originator of the Flower Festival (volunteering me as organiser!
The Flower Festival was a means of raising monies for the St. Anne's Youth Theatre Group
Jessie had a lifelong passion for music, being Musical Director for both
Walmsley & Farnworth Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Societies for many years.
Proceeds from the Flower Festivals supported many successful productions
by the Youth Theatre Group, with Jessie as producer,
and both the Flower Festival and the Youth Theatre Group provided
a focus of involvement of all sections of the community.
Our thanks is due to all those who have worked so hard for the success of these events.
Sadly Jessie died last August, so please share with us
a tribute in flowers to "Jessie's Musical Memories".... Dorothy Fletcher
